Virtual reality is rapidly emerging as an exciting new technology in hand therapy.
What once felt experimental is now becoming clinically relevant, offering immersive environments that support motor (re)training, and engagement.
In this presentation, we’ll briefly explore how VR technology has evolved, how it actually works in a therapeutic setting, and which indications are most promising for hand rehabilitation.
We’ll also look at how widely VR is currently used among hand therapists, what barriers still limit adoption, and how real-world clinical videos illustrate its potential in daily practice.
